MS OPHTHAL (UM)

Consultant Eye Surgeon

Dr. Leslie Wong was awarded a scholarship by the Australian Government to pursue his medical degree, and graduated under the Dean’s Commendation. He did his post-graduate training in the Ophthalmology Department of National University of Malaysia Hospital (UKM) and Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) from 2003 to 2007, and obtained a Master in Ophthalmology. QEH was his preferred choice for practice as the hospital was a state referral hospital that managed challenging and complicated cases. Cataract, glaucoma, retina, and age-related macular degeneration cases were his key focus in QEH. He also participated in the on-going Sabah Mission for Vision, a non-profit community project aimed at eliminating preventable and treatable blindness. Dr. Leslie has published his research findings in several journals, which are commons reference materials among his peers.
