Dr Dennis Kong Ket Ming was one of the first surgeons in the country to start doing small incision cataract surgery ( phaco and implant) around 1995 . He was practicing at Normah Medical Specialist Centre as a Consultant Eye Surgeon with a special interests in phaco and implant cataract surgery until March of 2015 .
Practice general comprehensive ophthalmology including phaco cataract surgery , external eye diseases , glaucoma , medical retina , eyelids , squints etc
Dr Kong did his undergraduate studies in Melbourne , Australia and eye specialist training in London , UK before returning to work at Hospital Kuala Lumpur and and was also Head of Eye Department of Sarawak General Hospital .
He is also very active in prevention of blindness activities with Sarawak Society of the Blind and in 2012 was awarded the Outstanding Service in Prevention of Blindness by Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology .
He was Chairman of Sarawak Society of the Blind Kuching Branch 2013-2015 and is on the Committee for Wellness and Prevention of Blindness.
