KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital is known in Perak as one of the premier in providing healthcare services to the community which was incorporated in Malaysia on 25th May 1978.
KPJ Ipoh a member of the KPJ Group of Hospitals was initially formed by group of 16 specialists in 1981 with 100 beds.
In 1989 the takeover of KPJ Ipoh by Johor Corporation, formerly known as Johor State Economic Development Corporation (JSEDC), led ISC then to greater heights, and now a multi- disciplinary tertiary care hospital that offers many diverse services all in one location, one stop centre.
KPJ Ipoh was listed in the Main Board of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) as KPJ Healthcare Berhad in November 1994 together with another sister hospital, Johor Specialist Hospital now KPJ Johor.
From the initially 100 beds hospital now KPJ Ipoh has the bed capacity of 265 beds. KPJ Ipoh is one of the leading hospital in the state of Perak with 31% holding of private hospital beds.
KPJ Ipoh provides a wide range of services to the community in the state of Perak. We are the hospital in Perak that provides Cardiac thoracic Service; this has helped the community from travelling more than 300km to Kuala Lumpur and more than 200km to Penang for cardiothoracic surgery.
Beside of this, KPJ Ipoh also one of the first private hospital that provide neurosurgical, oncology, cardiac cartelization, amongst the 1st hospital in Malaysia successful certify by OHSAS, among the 1st KPJ group hospital successful in receiving BFHI, one of the 1st KPJ group hospital to successfully launch the Baby Hatch and etc.
