Dr. Ronald Das is a sub-specialty trained ophthalmologist with vast experience in the diagnosis and management of complex retinal diseases such as retinal detachments, diabetes related eye diseases, ocular trauma and age related macular degeneration. He has a special interest in complex diabetic related retinal detachments. He graduated with his MD and Masters Degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. This he furthered with 3 years of subspecialty training in the field of Surgical Retinal Diseases and was awarded the Certificate of Completion for Fellowship Training (subspecialty) in Vitreoretinal Surgery in 2009 which included a year of training at the prestigious St Paul`s Eye Unit in Liverpool, UK.
Dr. Ronald is registered with National Specialist Registry Malaysia for Ophthalmology and is member of the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology and the American Retinal Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Ronald`s experience has seen him serve in large public hospitals such as Hospital Selayang, HUKM and St. Paul`s Eye Unit in Liverpool. He was the Head of retinal surgery in Hospital Selayang from 2009 to 2011. He was the lead trainer for the VR fellowship programme and was involved extensively for the Master in Ophthalmology training programme too.
